Jennifer Hogan has always had a passion for helping others. She has over 20 years experience as an educator, and is currently the Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Technology at Hoover High School. She has experience at the high school level as a science teacher, coach, assistant principal and principal.
In her various professional roles, Jennifer has stressed the importance of creating an engaging learning environment through relationships and respect, rigor, and student voice. She is also passionate about integrating technology in the school setting with students in the classroom and for professional growth. Jennifer is an innovative thinker and leader who values authentic leadership. She coaches and empowers others to grow into strong leaders.
Jennifer is a valuable resource for educators across the globe via her professional blog. She is the co-founder of the weekly Alabama Education Chat (#ALedchat) and the quarterly United States Education Chat (#USedchat) on Twitter, and she is a co-creator of The Compelled Tribe, a blogging community for educators. She has presented at International Society Technology in Education (ISTE), Global Education Conference (GEC), Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP), Edcamps, and was the keynote presenter for the Alabama School Public Relations Association (ALSPRA).
Jennifer received her Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Samford University. She resides in Birmingham, Alabama, with her husband and two daughters.
